Nikolay Losev (1855-1901)

Becoming volnoprihodyaschim student of the Academy of Fine Arts in 1870, Nikolay Losev in 1874 moved to full-time academics - the young man felt sure of its considerable talent. The successes we denote pretty soon: in 1879 N. Losev was small silver medal and honorable mention in 1880 - two large silver medals.

After graduating in 1881 in the course of scientific young artist receives a 1882 low, and in 1883 a gold medal for the program "The last moments of Saint Michael of Chernigov before bidding Batu." At the same time winning the title of class artist of the first degree and the right to a pensioner's trip abroad.

Postponed a trip to Europe, ND Losev made in 1886. By this time, he became widely known as a painter, a skilled craftsman, so the assignment to it in 1889 on a business trip for the actual work of Absolution slaves to freedom was the title of academician confirmation of the high-class painter.

In his works the artist in addition to historical subjects addressed to household compositions ("For the fish namitka", "A dear," "Misunderstanding"), who also served in accordance with the academic tradition - solidly in the details too well.
