Grigory Mikhailov Karpovich (1814-1867)
Grigory Mikhailov Karpovich - painter (1814 - 1867), a student Venetsianov and K. Bryullova . Received the gold medal for the painting "Prometheus" and "The Death of Laocoon with the kids" (sketch - the Tretyakov Gallery). Spent several years in Italy and Spain. Copied in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Raphael, Murillo, etc. Performed 175 illustrations to the Scriptures (figures etched in America). Rumyantsev Museum in Moscow it "girl that places a candle before the image." Mikhailov also wrote portraits (portrait Apt. Maikova in the collection of Fabricius, in St. Petersburg).
