Grigory Mikhailov Karpovich - painter (1814 - 1867), a student Venetsianov and K. Bryullova .

Received the gold medal for the painting "Prometheus" and "The Death of Laocoon with the kids" (sketch - the Tretyakov Gallery).

Spent several years in Italy and Spain. Copied in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Raphael, Murillo, etc.
