Possessed great skill and beautiful gift of psychological characteristics, and his works are distinguished by integrity and harmony of the composition, perfect figure, the liveliness of movement, expressive color. He died along with Andrei Rublev in 1427, from the "plague epidemic" and was buried next to him in Snaso-Andropikovom Monastery in Moscow.
