Vasily Vereshchagin (1835-1909)

Vasily Vereshchagin was born in Perm in the family with good artistic traditions. Therefore, his inclinations, like his older brother, Peter Petrovich , decided quite early.

 After receiving an excellent education (he studied at the Academy of Arts from 1857 to 1861) and honed his skills in the pensioner's trip to Paris and Rome (1863-1869), VP Vereshchagin after returning to Russia becoming a teacher of the historical class of the Academy of Fine Arts.
