Maksutov Vasily (1826-1886)The prince by birth and a retired captain for military service Vasily Maksutov not only got a kid relying princely offspring foundations of art education. Above all, he had the makings of a serious fine art and therefore consciously became volnoprihodyaschim student of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1850, V. Maksutov received a small silver medal for the painting "The camp is a field with military figures" and "Lancers in the parking lot." Familiarity with military life, the knowledge of military affairs, and then brought the artist successes: in 1851, the artist receives a large silver medal for his work "A soldier on the march", in 1852 - a small gold for his work "The Death of Major General SLEPTSOVA." 1853 brought another success VN Maksutov: in the battle painting "Attack of the Muslim regiment at the battle of Debrechine" in 1849, he received a gold medal and the title of the class artist. In 1855 Vasily sent in a deferred pensioner's trip abroad. Creative painter line was determined for all subsequent years.
