Bobyshov Mikhail Pavlovich (1885-1964)

BobyshovMihail P. [7 (19) .11. 1885 Village Pogoreloye Tver province - 07.07.1964, Leningrad], the Soviet stage designer and graphic artist, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1961).

 He studied at the St. Petersburg College Stieglitz (1900-07) of the VE Savinskoye. He was influenced by the "World of Art". Sets and costumes created Bobyshev differ fine sense of period style, decorative graphic quality total solutions.

He taught at the Leningrad Academy of Arts (since 1926, a professor from 1939), the Moscow Art Institute (1943-47). He has designed productions: "The Golden Cockerel" by Rimsky-Korsakov at the Small Theater of Petrograd (1923), "Rigoletto" by Verdi at the Opera Theater. Stanislavsky in Moscow (1939), "The Bronze Horseman" Glier in the Leningrad Theater of Opera and Ballet. Kirov and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (1949), etc.
