Bikes Fyodor Ilyich (1818-1890)

The painter and graphic artist.

Among the battle-artists who lived and worked in Russia in the XIX century, it should be noted Fyodor Ilyich Baykova.

As volnoprihodyaschego student in the 1840s, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. Student for "batalicheskih picture" received in 1846 a small silver medal.

He lived and wrote his paintings either in St. Petersburg or in Tiflis. Among his most famous battle paintings: "The capture of the fortress Akhty," "Battle of the village of Dara Kyuryuk around the fortress of Kars July 24, 1854," "A military camp", "Departure of the Guards Cossack Regiment during the war with Sweden in 1808" "Surrender of Kars 16 November 1855", "migrations" and others.

In 1862, the FI Baykova was promoted battle painting artist. He painted landscapes and painter, lithographer and was also very high class.

In the 1860s, has created an album of lithographs "Caucasian scenes and types," which had a great success with the artistic community of the country at the time.
