Peter V. Williams (1902-1947)

A founding member of the OST (1925). The main artist of the Bolshoi Theatre (1941 - 1947). A follower of the traditions of "World of Art" in the creation of a "synthetic" theatrical action, bright, showy spectacle.

 Used in the art of scenic design techniques of painting. At the heart of its decorative systems - panels-heel (the play "The Pickwick Club" in Moscow Art Theater, 1934). Sought to create illusory spatial scenic compositions (opera and ballet performances Bolshoi: "William Tell by Rossini, 1942;" Eugene Onegin "by Tchaikovsky, 1944;" Cinderella ", 1945," Romeo and Juliet ", 1946).
