Pupil of the Moscow School of Painting and Sculpture.

 From the Academy of Fine Arts received medals: in 1858 - 2 silver, and in 1860 - 1 silver for the painting "Saint Sebastian".

 In 1861, given the title of class artist painting historical and portrait.
