Vladimir Borovikovsky
(1757-1826)

Vladimir Borovikovsky (1757-1825 gg.) - Russian painter ( Ukrainian origin) , and master of historical portraiture. Vladimir Lukic was the son of a poor nobleman , in his youth he was in military service , but left it to the rank of lieutenant and moved to his hometown - Mirgorod (Poltava province) . His father and two brothers were painters who worked in the surrounding temples.
