Matveev Nikolai Sergeyevich (1855-1939)

In the history of Russian art Nikolay Matveev did not leave a visible trace, although he was a prolific and multifaceted artist.

He lived and worked at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries - a time which gave a lot of great Russian artists and many more seekers of the new art. NS Matveev the best of their abilities, and dabbled in the historical genre, and in the household, and other areas of painting were not alien to the artist. Note that the pattern of NS Matveeva "Twilight" (1891) expanded the collection of PM Tretyakov, which was a recognition of the artist a certain skill.
