Krivonogov Petr (1910-1967)

Born in Udmurtia Petr Krivonogov in 1939 graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Soon he was in the Military Artists Studio named after MB Grekova. In the last pre-war year the artist began to exhibit his paintings at the exhibition.

During the Second World War, there are numerous drawings and graphic works of P. Krivonogova made in fighting the Red Army. Among them are many portraits, including those of ordinary soldiers, "plow on their bellies half of Europe."

After the war, most of the paintings of the painter devoted the last war - its heroic ("The Battle of Korsun-Shevchenko," "The Kursk") and heroic and tragic ("Defenders of the Brest Fortress," "The Commissioner of the fortress") pages. His most well-known painting ("Victory"), PA Krivonogov wrote is called, in hot pursuit, in 1948. Visited the witness of many small and big battles, was awarded the Order of the Red Star military medals and artist in May 1945 in Berlin, attended by the apotheosis of the great resistance of the Soviet soldier. For this picture, PA Krivonogova awarded the State Prize of the USSR. He later became an Honoured Artist of the RSFSR. All the creative life of the painter has been associated with the studio named after MB Grekova.
