Georgii Stenberg Avgustovich (1900-1933)
Stenberg, George Avgustovich [7 (20) .10.1900, Moscow - 10.14.1933, ibid], a Soviet graphic artist, designer, master of decorative arts, theater artist. He studied in Moscow at the Stroganov School of Industrial Art (1912-17) and the Free Art Studios (1917-20). In the early years sovetstkih Stenberg authorities participated in the design of large scale celebrations. Member of INKhuK, Society of Young Artists (Obmohu). The representative of constructivism, a member of the movement of production art, Stenberg tried to make the decorative arts effective means of agitation and aesthetic education of the masses. Stenberg - one of the founders of the Soviet film posters, posters for his characteristic line dynamics and the principle of mounting the film, a combination of redrawing a spectacular shot with large planes of color and eye-catching font. Works: the design of the play "The Beggar's Opera" by Brecht and C. Weil (1930, Moscow Chamber Theatre), automobile interiors of the Palace of Culture (1930), Moscow, Red Square, holiday decoration (1928-34).
