Petrovichev Peter Ivanovich (1874-1947)

Petrovichev Peter Ivanovich [6 (18) .12.1874, Vysokovo village, now the Yaroslavl region - 01.04.1947, Moscow], the Soviet landscape painter.

He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1892-1903) at I. Levitan and V. Serov . A member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, and the Union of Russian Artists (since 1911 exhibitor since 1905).

 The works are imbued with the approval Petrovicheva poetic beauty of mother nature and the pre-Petrine architecture, broad brushwork thick paste-brush strokes and a few muffled "Twilight" colors give the severity of some of his landscapes ("Rostov the Great", 1912, Russian Museum, Leningrad, "River in the autumn", 1926 State Tretyakov Gallery).
