Petr Petrovich Vereshchagin (1834-1886)

Petr Vereshchagin was, like his brother Basil , initial art education in the family and also to continue it in the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg (1858-1865). However, his artistic interests of the brothers differed significantly. Petr Petrovich Vereshchagin is best known for his landscapes.

After graduation he taught and created a lot of landscapes. His views of cities or their specific locations ("View of Reval from Kadriorg", 1864, "View Dinaburga", 1867, "Market in Nizhny Novgorod," 1867 "View of the Kremlin", 1868) and brought him recognition, expressed in conferring titles artist of the second, and then the first degree, academic landscape painting (1873), and known among art lovers.

After retiring from teaching artist works a lot of traveling and a lot of writes, views of the Caucasus (Sukhum-Kale), Crimea ("View of Sevastopol from the Malakhov Hill"), the Urals ("River Chusovaia.
