Red'ko Kliment Nikolaevich (1897-1956)

In a time of discipleship KN Red'ko was extremely conflicting skills: first there was the icon painting school at kiswa-Pechersk Lavra (1910), then the lessons of A. A. Rylova at the Drawing School of the OPH (1914-15), then the class B. Kandinsky at the Moscow Higher Art (1920-22).

Equally controversial early paintings appear experiences of the artist - in 1920. realistic portraits and landscapes coexist with symbolism and "cosmism" ("Births", "Rise," "Midnight Sun"), the general form of Suprematism - with their own versions of constructivism. The latest trend - the most powerful: being fascinated by the theories of combining science and art, developing a teaching Red'ko "Electroorganism" (later "svechenizma"), implementing it in a series of papers ("Dynamite," "Speed," "The dynamics of focus," all of the 1920 ), close to the Italian Futurism.

With such work, he is involved in the "First Discussion Exhibition of active revolutionary art" (1924) as a member of the "Method", the world's fascination with the engine, on the other hand, brings him to the artists belonging to the OCT. At this point of his career, he sought to cover him AVLunacharsky trip to France (1927).

Red'ko remained in France until 1935, where he walked away from constructivism and became a master of portraits and landscapes, executed in the spirit of the Paris Salon, combining realism with a decorative shape and luster performance with semantic raskhozhestyu ("Motherhood", 1928, "Nina. Girl with a scythe "1929" Parisienne ", 1931). These things were a success - the artist held four solo exhibitions. But on arrival in the USSR Red'ko shared the fate of many of the "returnees": creative irrelevance, the work of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (1938-39) with the exception of the Union of Soviet Artists (1948). The last years of his life (1950 - 55), he directed the art studio of the Moscow Agricultural Academy. By Timiriazev.
