Annenkov, Yuri Pavlovich
(1889-1974)

Early childhood Yu.P.Annenkova passed on a distant Kamchatka, where he was sent into exile by his father, a former member of the organization "People's Will."
 In 1893, the family returned to St. Petersburg. Dacha Annenkov in Kuokkala village near St. Petersburg, was not far from the estate of Ilya Repin. since childhood surrounded by creative people, the future artist soon became interested in drawing.

 In 1906, Annenkov was expelled from public secondary school for "political unreliability", expressed in the cartoons for the student magazine illegal. This, however, did not prevent him to receive a certificate and in 1908 entered the law faculty of St. Petersburg University.

 Art education Annenkov was not systematic. Back in my school years, he attended classes at the TSUTR. In 1908 he worked in the studio S.M.Zeydenberga, where his classmates were M.3.Shagal . However, the entrance exam AH.Annenkov not passed and entered the studio Ya.F.Tsionglipskogo.

 On the advice of his teacher, in 1911 he went to Paris, where he continued his training in workshops and Maurice Denis F.Vellottona - the famous artists of the "Nabi". In 1913, Annenkov debuted two paintings at the exhibition of the Salon of Independent in Paris.  Returning to Russia in 1913, became interested in Annenkov graphics. His drawings have appeared on the pages of magazines "Argus", "Curved seashore", "Motherland", "Satyricon", "Theater and the arts."
 Another passion was the theater artist. In his decorations were the performances at the Theatre Komissarzhevskaya, he worked for the theater N.N.Evreinova "distorting mirror."

 The most important period in the work of post-revolutionary years were Annenkov. He took part in all the artistic endeavors of those years. The artist was a board member of the Petrograd House of Arts, was one of the organizers of the OST in 1921, was in charge of the artistic part of the theater of political satire "Free Comedy", published articles and essays in "Living Art". In 1920 he designed the grand spectacle of the people "Storm of the Winter Palace 'at the Palace Square and the" Hymn of the emancipation of labor "(with MVDobuzhinsky and VA Schuko) near the Stock Exchange building in Petrograd.

 In the same year, Annenkov was elected professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
