Trutovsky Konstantin (1826-1893)Trutovsky (Konstantin Aleksandrovich, 1826 - 1893) - painter, genre painter. After receiving primary education in a private school in Kharkov, in 1839, was brought to St. Petersburg, defined in Nikolaev engineering school, and even when he was there showed a lot of love and the ability to art. After graduating in 1845, the course of this institution and its officers' class, left with him as a tutor and began to diligently attend classes of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, it was considered a disciple of Professor FA Bruni and was preparing to be a historical painter, though he felt a desire to preferred genre. In 1849 went to the parent estate, where Ruthenian nature and people's way of life made him such a strong impression that became the main source from which it was from this time mainly found its contents to their works. Soon after he retired and settled in the village, only occasionally being in Moscow and St. Petersburg with drawings and paintings. In 1861, for the painting "Dance in Little Russia" (located at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow), the Academy elevated him to the rank of the academician. From 1871 to 1881 he served as inspector of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, and then lived and worked in his estate. Trutovsky differed extremely prolific: paintings, watercolors and pencil drawings executed them countless. In addition to scenes of Ukrainian vernacular life, he depicted the types and manners of small landlords, showing these images in his subtle powers of observation, wit and often poetic feeling. Unfortunately, the lack of it has received artistic training and habit - especially recently - to work quickly, without consulting with nature, in many cases, reduce the dignity of its well-conceived and skillfully executed works, of which it will be enough to point to the picture: "Carols Little Russia" (located at the Museum of Emperor Alexander III, in St. Petersburg), "The working time" (in the collection of K. Soldatenkova in Moscow), "Sorochinskaya Fair", "Date" and "landlords, politicians," and on watercolor "After lunch in the summer "and" Benefactors "(at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow).
