Makovskaya Egorovna Alexander (1837-1915)

Alexander Egorovna Makovskaya - the eldest of the children of the famous Moscow art lovers, one of the founders of the Moscow School of Painting and Sculpture - Yegor Ivanovich Makovsky (1800-1866).

 The house Makovsky often gathered artists and Moscow artists, he EI Makovsky was a capable amateur painter. It was he who contributed to the artistic education of their children, so that Alexander could not help to paint. Her brothers - Constantine (1839-1915), Nicholas (1842-1886) and Vladimir (1846-1920) - famous artists who have left an imprint on the history of Russian art.

 AE Makovskaya not as well known as her brothers. And indeed in the second half of the XIX century female artist - still the exception rather than the rule.
