MJ Budkeev was born on December 23, 1922 to a peasant family in the ancient village at the foot of the ridge Salair Ovsyannikovo of Virgin in the Altai Region. In Biysk was very popular and respected landscape DI Kuznetsov, chtivshy his teacher GI Gurkin , the founder of the professional painting of the Altai. He lived in a communal apartment, two little rooms on the second floor of a former merchant's mansion. In it, in this apartment that was often a young MJ Budkeev. Here reigned the spirit of true service to art. DI Kuznetsov gave Budkeev and his wife, actress MI Mud-Budkeev two studies, now they have become a family heirloom. Biyskaya creative atmosphere strengthened the desire to be an artist. MJ Budkeev in his more timid experience absorbed artistic and moral traditions of Russian realistic school. It was natural for MJ Budkeev hobby landscape - a love of nature preached DI Kuznetsov.
